A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
